“The most isolated speck of Rock, surrounded by Water, on the Surface of the Earth.” James A. Macintosh (1946)

"There can be no place more desolate, despairing and awful." Lord Kennet (1971)

ROCKALL SOLO is a unique endurance expedition to be undertaken by Nick Hancock in order to raise funds for Help for Heroes.

Nick landed on Rockall in 2012 on a reconnaisance for Rockall Solo. The challenge is now for Nick to land on Rockall for a second time, and this time survive solo for 60 days, setting two new endurance records:

THE LONGEST SOLO OCCUPATION OF ROCKALL

THE LONGEST OCCUPATION OF ROCKALL IN HISTORY

Due to adverse weather conditions and swell, Nick was unable to land on Rockall in May 2013. Limited charter vessel availability and the decreasing window in which to achieve the records, meant that the expedition was postponed. Nick is planning to return to Rockall in summer 2014.
